BillPilot is a private, local-first bill tracker developed by Dojoism. This Privacy Policy explains how BillPilot handles information when you use the app.
Overview
BillPilot helps you manually track bills, recurring expenses, due dates, payment status, categories, budgets, reminders, and cash cushion planning. It is designed to work without bank sync, without Plaid, without an account, and without sending your financial profile to a server.
Information We Collect
BillPilot does not collect personal data from you. Bill information you enter into the app is stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system, analytics system, advertising system, bank connection system, or server database for your bill records.
Bill Data You Enter
You may choose to enter bill names, amounts, balances due, currencies, due dates, recurrence rules, categories, notes, autopay status, payment history, budgets, and expected income or cash cushion information. This information remains on your device and is used only to provide BillPilot's tracking and planning features.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, BillPilot uses local notifications on your device to remind you before bills are due. These notifications are scheduled by the app on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.
Widgets
BillPilot may share a small local summary, such as monthly bill total, next due bill, upcoming bills, or paid status, between the app and its Home Screen widget using Apple's App Group storage on your device. This information is not sent to Dojoism.
Purchases
If you purchase BillPilot Pro, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. Dojoism does not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide transaction status information needed to unlock purchased features. Core privacy protections, including no account and no bank sync, apply to all users.
iCloud Sync
Optional iCloud sync may be available for BillPilot Pro users. If you enable it, your data is synced through your private Apple iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Dojoism does not operate a BillPilot sync server and cannot read the contents of your iCloud data.
Permissions
BillPilot may request notification permission for local reminders and Face ID permission if you enable privacy lock. These permissions are controlled by iOS and can be changed in Settings.
Third-Party Services
BillPilot does not use third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, analytics SDKs, or bank data providers. If future versions add optional services, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those services are used.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Because BillPilot does not collect your bill records, we cannot share those records with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your bill records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, clear your data, or delete the app. Deleting the app may remove locally stored app data from your device, subject to Apple's system behavior, iCloud settings, and device backup settings.
Children's Privacy
BillPilot is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
BillPilot can be used in different regions, but app data is designed to remain local on your device. App Store purchases and downloads are handled by Apple according to Apple's terms and privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website.
