Cup8 Privacy Policy

Cup8 is a minimal water-tracking app developed by Dojoism. This Privacy Policy explains how Cup8 handles information when you log water, change settings, customize quick-add amounts, use widgets, enable reminders, connect Apple Health, make purchases, receive review prompts, and export your records.
Overview
Cup8 is designed to work without a Dojoism account, without sync, without advertising, without profiling, and without a Dojoism server for your water records. Your entries and settings are stored locally on your device by default.
Information We Collect
Dojoism does not collect your water entries through a Dojoism account or server. Cup8 does not operate a Dojoism analytics system, advertising system, profiling system, sync backend, or server database for your hydration records.
Water Data You Enter
You may choose to enter water amounts, entry times, daily goal settings, quick-add amounts, reminder settings, and Apple Health preference settings. Cup8 may also store local app state such as onboarding completion, trial timing, milestone celebration flags, and review prompt timing. This information is used only to provide the app's logging, history, stats, reminders, widget, export, purchase access, review prompt, and optional Apple Health features.
Local Storage
Cup8 stores water entries and settings locally using SwiftData. The app also mirrors selected data to UserDefaults and the App Group group.com.lizzian.cup8 so the Cup8 widget can show today's total, goal, progress, and remaining amount. UserDefaults may also store local-only preferences and state, including onboarding completion, trial start fallback, milestone celebration flags, and review prompt timing.
Apple Health
Cup8 can request permission to read and write dietary water data in Apple Health. Apple Health access is optional and controlled by you through Apple's permission prompts and Settings. When Health support is enabled, Cup8 writes new water entries to Apple Health with metadata that identifies the matching Cup8 entry, and it attempts to replace or remove the matching Apple Health sample when you edit, delete, or reset Cup8 entries. If Apple Health cannot be updated, Cup8 may still update your local app records and show a sync error. Dojoism does not receive your Apple Health data.
Widgets
The Cup8 widget reads locally shared app data from the App Group to display today's water progress. Widget data stays on your device and is not sent to Dojoism.
Reminders and Notifications
Cup8 can schedule optional local reminders during a start-to-end time window at the interval you choose. These reminders use local notifications on your device. Dojoism does not use a push notification server for Cup8 reminders.
Export
Cup8 can export records as JSON, plain text, or CSV. Exported files are created only when you choose to export. After export, the destination you choose, such as Files, Mail, Messages, or another app, controls how that exported copy is handled.
Purchases and Trial
Cup8 includes a 7-day trial and may include a one-time Pro purchase using the product ID cup8.pro.lifetime. Purchases, restores, entitlement checks, and App Store transaction status are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Cup8 may use Apple's original app purchase date or a local fallback date to calculate the trial period. Dojoism does not receive your full payment card information from Apple. Apple may provide purchase status information needed to unlock app features.
Ratings and Reviews
Cup8 may ask iOS to show Apple's App Store review prompt after certain local milestones, such as reaching a daily goal. Cup8 stores local flags and dates to avoid asking too often. The prompt is handled by Apple; Dojoism does not collect review text or ratings through the Cup8 app.
Third-Party Services
Cup8 does not use third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, profiling analytics, or data broker services. App distribution, Apple Health, widgets, local notifications, purchases, restores, and App Store review prompts are handled by Apple according to Apple's terms and privacy policies.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Because Cup8 does not collect your water records on a Dojoism server, we cannot share those records with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your Cup8 records remain on your device until you edit entries, archive entries, delete all data, export records, write records to Apple Health, or delete the app. The Delete All Data action removes local entries, restores default settings, refreshes widget data, and reschedules reminders according to the reset settings. When Apple Health support is enabled, Cup8 attempts to remove matching Cup8-created Apple Health samples during reset, but Apple Health records are ultimately managed separately through Apple's Health app and system settings.
Children's Privacy
Cup8 is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
Cup8 can be used in different regions. App data is designed to remain local on your device unless you manually export or share it, or choose to write entries to Apple Health.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website.
