Plain Tasks Privacy Policy

Plain Tasks is a private, on-device task app developed by Dojoism. This Privacy Policy explains how Plain Tasks handles information when you use the app.
Overview
Plain Tasks helps you create a small daily task list, mark tasks complete, archive previous days into history, set simple recurrence, adjust your daily task limit, and export your records as plain text or JSON. The app is designed to work without an account, without tracking, and without a server database for your tasks.
Information We Collect
Plain Tasks does not collect personal data from you. Task data you enter into the app is stored locally on your device using Apple system storage. Dojoism does not operate an account system, analytics system, advertising system, sync backend, or server database for your task records.
Task Data You Enter
You may choose to enter task titles, completion status, creation dates, update dates, completion dates, archive dates, recurrence settings, task history, and app settings such as maximum tasks per day. This information remains on your device and is used only to provide Plain Tasks' task list, history, recurrence, and export features.
Local Storage
Plain Tasks stores current tasks, archived tasks, and settings locally on your device using UserDefaults with JSON-encoded records. The data survives app restarts and remains under your control on your device.
Rollover and History
When you open Plain Tasks on a new day, the app can move the previous day's tasks into History and start a clean list for today. This rollover is performed locally on your device.
Export
Plain Tasks can export your task list and history as plain text or JSON. Exported files or shared text are created only when you choose to export. After export, the destination you choose, such as Messages, Mail, Files, or another app, controls how that exported copy is handled.
Purchases
Plain Tasks is designed around a one-time unlock model. If purchases are available in the version you use, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. Dojoism does not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide transaction status information needed to unlock purchased features.
Notifications
The current version of Plain Tasks does not use push notification servers. If a future version adds optional local reminders, they will be scheduled on your device and this Privacy Policy will be updated if needed.
iCloud Sync
The current version of Plain Tasks does not provide iCloud sync or a Plain Tasks cloud account. Your task records are stored on device only unless you manually export or share them.
Third-Party Services
Plain Tasks does not use third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, profiling analytics, or data broker services. It does not connect to a Dojoism server for your task records.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Because Plain Tasks does not collect your task records, we cannot share those records with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your task records remain on your device until you edit or delete tasks, clear history, export data, or delete the app. Deleting the app may remove locally stored app data from your device, subject to Apple's system behavior and device backup settings.
Children's Privacy
Plain Tasks is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
Plain Tasks can be used in different regions, but app data is designed to remain local on your device. App Store purchases and downloads are handled by Apple according to Apple's terms and privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website.
