Vidayer is a video player for files you own, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Vidayer does not require an account, does not use third-party analytics, does not use advertising SDKs, and does not use a developer-owned server for your videos, your library, or anything else.
Overview
Your video files, library index, playback positions, poster frames, favourites, hidden items, saved network sources and settings are stored on your device, inside the app's own storage. Lizzian LLC does not operate a server that can read any of it, and Vidayer makes no network requests to Lizzian LLC or Dojoism at any time.
Information We Collect
Lizzian LLC collects nothing. There is no account, no telemetry, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier and no usage analytics of any kind. We do not know what you watch, how often you open the app, or that you use it at all.
Local App Data
Vidayer stores: a library index of the videos you add (title, file name, size, duration, resolution, codecs, HDR flag), a bookmark that lets the app reopen each file you chose, small poster-frame images, playback positions and last-played dates, favourites and hidden flags, the network sources you save (name, address, path, user name), and your playback and subtitle settings. All of it lives on your device.
Your Video Files
Vidayer plays files where they are. Files you pick in the Files app or drop on the Mac window are not copied or uploaded; the app keeps a system bookmark so it can open them again. Files you share to Vidayer from another app may be placed in Vidayer's own folder by iOS. Vidayer never modifies your files.
Network Sources and Passwords
When you add an SMB share, WebDAV folder, DLNA server, or a Jellyfin or Emby server, Vidayer connects directly from your device to that server — over your network or the address you enter — to list folders and play files. Nothing passes through Lizzian LLC. Passwords are stored in the system Keychain on your device. For Jellyfin and Emby, the app signs in with your user name and password and keeps the resulting access token in memory only; it is not written to the library. Vidayer can connect over plain HTTP when your server requires it; use HTTPS where your server supports it.
Local Network Access
Vidayer asks for Local Network permission to find media servers and shared folders on your network (Bonjour and UPnP/DLNA discovery) and to connect to them. It is used only for those servers.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you turn on iCloud sync (Vidayer Pro), your library index, playback progress and saved sources are stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit so they appear on your other devices. Server passwords are not synced. This data is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Lizzian LLC has no access to it. Turning sync off stops further syncing.
Face ID and Touch ID
The hidden vault (Vidayer Pro) uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Your face or fingerprint data never leaves the Secure Enclave; the app only receives whether authentication succeeded.
Permissions
Vidayer may request Local Network access (as described above) and Face ID (only when you unlock the hidden vault). It does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, location or your photo library. Saving a still from a video uses the system share sheet, so you choose where it goes.
Purchases
Vidayer is free to download. Vidayer Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple. The app receives only a signed record that the purchase exists so it can unlock Pro; Lizzian LLC does not receive your name, email address or payment details.
Data Sharing
There is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers, data brokers or analytics providers, because we never receive it. Vidayer contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party behavioural analytics SDKs. The open-source libraries it includes (FFmpeg, libsmb2, libass and others) run entirely on your device.
Deletion and Retention
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. Removing a video from the library deletes its index entry and poster frame but never the file itself. Removing a source deletes its saved password from the Keychain. Deleting the app removes everything Vidayer stored on that device; if you used iCloud sync, you can delete the synced data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Support Emails
If you contact support by email, your email address and whatever you include in the message are handled by your email provider and ours so we can reply. Please do not send passwords or server addresses you consider private.
Children's Privacy
Vidayer is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website.
